• “Those Lazy-Hazy-Crazy Days”, 3.01 – It’s the season premiere of Season 3 and it starts almost where we left off: Rory is returning home from her summer leadership course in Washington D.C., Lorelai is desperately trying to find a way to avoid talking to Emily about what’s really going on with Christopher, oh and Rory finds Jess making out with a random girl which brings out the green eyed monster in our sweet little Rory.
• “They Shoot Gilmores, Don’t They?”, 3.07 – When I think about great episodes from the series, this is definitely one of them. It’s the Stars Hollow Dance Marathon and that sets the scene for possibly the most emotional episode of the season. Get the tissues ready, Rory is going to have to face up to the consequences of her actions.
• “A Deep-Fried Korean Thanksgiving”, 3. 09 – While this episode isn’t really necessary for plot, especially when you’re looking at the entire series, it is the quintessential Gilmore Girls episode plus you get a chance to see many of the main families – the Gilmores, Sookie & Jackson, Lane’s family, Luke and Jess –  that are in the series. Oh and then there’s Lane, Rory’s best friend, and some extra special happens to her in this episode.

• “Dear Emily and Richard”, 3.13 – Sherry, Christopher’s baby mama, goes into labor early and Christopher is out of town, so Rory has help Sherry at the hospital. Desperate because hello, the girl is a teenager, Rory calls her mom to come and aid her in helping Sherry experience labor. This episode is filled with flashbacks of Lorelai and Christopher’s teen romance and the birth of Rory.
• “Those Are Strings, Pinocchio!” 3.22 – Rory graduates as valedictorian from Chilton Academy, she gives a speech and it makes everyone, including Luke cry. There’s really nothing more you need to know about this season finale.

• “Ballroom and Biscotti” 4.01 – Lorelai and Rory come back from their European vacation, Sookie finds out the sex of her baby, and Luke returns from his cruise with some surprising news.
• “The Lorelais’ First Day at Yale” 4.02 – Surprise! Rory got into Yale. It’s move-in day and not only is Rory’s matress unacceptable but none other than Paris is one of Rory’s roommates.

• “The Reigning Lorelai” 4.16 – Richard’s mother, the first Lorelai, passes away. This episode really focuses on the dynamic between Richard, his mother (whom he lovingly calls “Trix”) and his wife, Emily. It has great insight on how Emily became the woman we know today.

• “Last Week Fights, This Week Tights” 4.21  – Luke’s sister (who also happens to be Jess’ mother), gets married to TJ, a quirky and sometimes silly bloke, in a medieval-themed wedding. Luke invites Lorelai to the wedding as his plus one and she assumes that it’s completely platonic…or is it?

• “Raincoats and Recipes” 4.22 – The season finale pits all of Stars Hollow at the revamped Dragonfly Inn for a trial run before the inn opens its doors. Luke and Lorelai share a huge moment as does Rory and Dean (yeah remember him?). Although to be honest the Rory and Dean thing is just, well, disappointing because he is still married to Lindsay after all.

So you have your assignment now, Mama. Go and seize seasons 3 and 4. We have a little over a month to go until the new mini-series airs on November 25th!
