Oh that Caillou kid…

I met the PercyVites team while I was at BlogHer’13 on the expo floor. I saw the Caillou PercyVite playing on the little TV in their display and I just knew that unfortunately, I should talk to them. You see, my oldest, Brennan, loves Caillou. I willingly admit that he is not my idea of a great show to binge on.

Despite my personal Caillou dislike, the fact that Brennan loves the show has endeared me to that little baldie four-year-old (FYI apparently Caillou is bald so that every child can relate to him). And when I started chatting with Eden and Julie I fell in love with PercyVites and their concept – digital, personalized invitations that saves you money! I’ll be guest blogging for them from time to time and I have to share my first blog post with you….without further ado…
(You’re welcome and I’m sorry.) Is your kid a Caillou fan?

  1. My son loves caillou… I can’t stand caillou! My husband refuses to let him watch it when he is around. I just hate when he acts all bratty and throws fits over little things. Some episodes are fine and others are just teaching awful behavior. I feel like my son whines more after watching an episode

I think its funny that Caillou receives so much flack considering there are quite a few 4 year old children that act the same way. That said my son loves Caillou and I think he does get irritating after awhile lol. There are a lot of positives to learn from Caillou and negatives as well- but I think that is common for many kids’ shows. I think the idea of a Cailou birthday party is awesome. Even if it wasn’t exactly based on Caillou, there is a lot of fun, hands on stuff for kids to do.

My oldest daugter was obsessed with Caillou wheb she was younger. Even now at 7 it is the only “baby show” (her words, not mine) that she watches with her siblings without complaining. I absolutely love the invitation though. We have to start lookig into that for next year’s birthdays.

  4. GAH, I hate Caillou. I also don’t care for Elmo either, but my son loves him so much, I just tune that annoying, shrill voice out. If your child likes and cares about something, you want them to be happy, so you give in. If my son watched Caillou and loved him, I’d throw a Caillou party too. With my teeth gritted the whole time. =)
