People I know often ask me how I “do it all.” I typically respond with, “Well, I don’t do it all.” It’s true; there are plenty of things I don’t do because of schedules, time, life and those three little humans I happen to have the privilege to be raising. In the few times that I do have my act together and I am “doing it all” my key secret is my slow cooker. Dinner or breakfast for that matter made in the slow cooker is often times my saving grace during the day; especially since my prime dinner prep happens to be during the witching hour. What is the witching hour? Oh it’s that special time when all hell breaks loose with your children around the early evenings between 4:00pm and 6:30pm.

2 Ingredient Slow Cooker Cinnamon Rolls Recipe
One of my favorite slow cooker cinnamon rolls is from Fix-it and Forget-it: Slow Cooker Magic. The recipe is really easy and it tastes so good! It’s called Custard Cinnamon Rolls. I know, who would’ve thought to make cinnamon rolls in a slow cooker?! Genius, plus your house ends up smelling amazing!
What to look for in a slow cooker
You need a reliable slow cooker in order to make Slow Cooker Cinnamon Rolls but how do you decide which one to buy? First you can go with well known brands and that’s kind of a no-brainer. Here are other features you should consider:
- Size – The popular size of slow cookers is the 6-quart slow cooker. It can feed four to five people as well as large pieces of meat. You can get any size of slow cooker from 1-Quart to 8.5-Quarts.
- Temperature Control Settings – You should have a slow cooker that has a low setting and a high setting. I also like having a “keep warm” setting.
- Digital Programmable – You can always get the manual programmable slow cooker but I have to ask why. You can easily program a digital programmable slow cooker to cook for a certain amount of time and keep the dish warm if you aren’t at home.
- Removable Crock – You want to have a slow cooker that has a removable crock. It’s easier to clean.
- Shape – An oblong slow cooker will cook meat like chicken, pork chops, ribs easily. A round slow cooker can cook just about anything.
- Lid – While you can get a plastic lid, please don’t. Stick to glass, it can withstand hot temperatures better.
What’s the difference between a Crock-Pot and a Slow Cooker?
Nothing. Crock-Pot is a brand name the same way Kleenex is, Band-Aids are, you get the point.
Ingredients for Slow Cooker Cinnamon Rolls.
First things first, gather all of your ingredients. All two of them, vanilla ice cream and refrigerated cinnamon rolls.
Turn your slow cooker onto HIGH so that it preheats.
Measure out the ice cream so that you’re using three and a half cups. Licking the spatula afterwards is always necessary. See? I’m putting it in the directions so you have to indulge.
Spread your ice cream into the preheated slow cooker and flatten it out as it softens.
Take cinnamon rolls out of the tube and press into the ice cream.
Cover and cook on HIGH for two hours, when the ice cream looks like a thick custard and the rolls are no longer doughy.
Serve with icing on top and enjoy a cup of hot coffee.

Spread ice cream onto the bottom of the slow cooker, flattening as the ice cream begins to soften.
Press cinnamon rolls into the ice cream.
Cover and cook on HIGH for two hours or until the ice cream is a thick custard and the rolls are baked through.
Serve roll with the custard and top with the icing.
I promise these cinnamon rolls are so easy to make and so tasty that you’ll want to add them to your regular breakfast menu. Why not add these crockpot hash brown egg casserole to the menu with your cinnamon rolls? Let me know what you think about slow cooker cinnamon rolls!

My youngest is a picky eater, vanilla is the only ice cream he’ll eat. He’s also a big fan of cinnamon rolls, so I think this will be a hit..and if it’s not, more for me 😉 Thanks for sharing.
